Your Leadership Style and How you Interact with Others
Alex Weikel is the Director of Ticket Operations for Miami University Athletics in Oxford, Ohio and has 20 years of experience within Ticket and Marketing operations in the collegiate setting. She works closely with her veteran staff members, as well as interns, and other student workers to ensure that each season, team, and individual events, run as smoothly as possible. As you can imagine, it can be difficult to figure out how to have various personalities and leadership styles work together every day. Alex and her staff will interact with the general public, the Miami Athletic Director and Board of Athletics, team coaches, team staff, students, local businesses, etc. Throughout the years, she has had significant experience working with different leaders and leadership styles, and has helped to educate those around her on how to develop those skills. Working through our selected reading, Surrounded by Bad Bosses, she would be considered a Red leader with a touch of blue. Or if you are more familiar with the Myers Briggs Personality Test, she would be considered an ENTJ or Commander. Knowing your leadership style, strengths, and weakness play a huge role in your success and growth within your workplace. Join us on Tuesday July 18th at 2:00pm EST via Teams to learn more about your personality type and how you interact with others.
After our seminar, we encourage everyone to read chapters 3-14 to learn more about your leadership style. As you learn more, think about your style, the style of those around you, how you are currently interacting with them, and how you could better interact with them. During our open discussion on Tuesday May 16th, we will informally talk about some scenarios and what you have learned over the past 6 weeks.
